Databases

The Center for the Study of Early American History at Montpelier is working to develop the library collection. The library focuses on early American history, Maine history, research materials and curriculum resources. In addition to purchasing new titles and significant works of history scholarship, we believe this includes access to digital collections. Some provide access to scholarly journals or digitized primary sources, as well as educational resources for teachers and classroom use. Below are links to the free trails for databases we are considering, as well as user names and passwords as needed for each (they are case sensitive, so be sure to type them as they appear). You are welcome and encouraged to explore these resources – click on through!
These trials will be available for the month of July and we would appreciate you feedback on what you found useful and interesting. If you have any questions or technical problems, please feel free to contact me at center@knoxmuseum.org,and Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Sophie Mendoza
Education Coordinator

    Knox Boxes
Montpelier, the General Henry Knox Museum is pleased to provide two different Knox Boxes to local classrooms, containing material to introduce General Henry Knox, his life and times to students. Our goal is to enrich the classroom experience and enliven the students' interest in our rich heritage. The material in the Knox Boxes is provided, free of charge, to educators teaching within the Waldo Patent, to incorporate in their lesson planning related to life in 18th century America. We suggest a class tour of Montpelier, also free of charge, as a culminating activity.

Knox Boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be signed out for a period of two months. If you have any questions, contact the Education Coordinator at (207) 354-0858 or via email at center@knoxmuseum.org. We look forward to hosting you and your students at Montpelier.
